According to a new study, it has been brought forth that more than half of all emails got in the European Union are unwanted or malicious, regardless of the augmented attempts of anti-spam & spyware to quarantine messages getting rid of everything from sex to stock tips. The report also discovered that just two EU nations, the Netherlands & Finland, were at the progress in putting into effect a 2002 law to stop spam.

EU spokesperson Martin Selmayr said Monday,

Spam is still ... making up to between 50 and 80% of the mails that are being received by us in Europe and two-thirds of that is originating from outside the EU.” Selmayr further said, ‘Spam mail has been cut by 85% in the Netherlands, thanks to Dutch authorities handing out fines to businesses that send spam.

For EU governments, it has been mandatory to go ahead with their fight to combat spam, spyware and further illegitimate online activities and put into action EU rules in order to develop Internet safety. EU governments is also expected to form new law and legislation in order to make it easier to act against spammers.
