A researcher that sometime back claimed to have detected an exploit-for-sale service, recently purported that newly-found creepy-crawly in Windows Vista’s integrated e-mail program is suspected to be exploited by hackers to sprint nasty code on a compromised computer. Microsoft made a clean breast of the report and maintained that the latest vulnerability is under investigation.
Symantec’s DeepSight network, which warned of the flaw in Windows Mail, upped the risk ranking from 6.8 to 7.5 in a follow-up alert following it verified that the creepy-crawly was remote code vulnerable, which stands for that an invader could present his or her own malware onto a victimized PC. Windows Mail is the successor to Outlook Express, the entry-level e-mail application that has been integrated with the operating system since the Windows 95 edition.
