Symantec anti-virus-related problems are compelling some of the aggravated channel partners to switch over to other vendors’ offerings. The software that earlier used to be the best in the industry, now seem to be causing problems for computer users, and the vendors who have been supplying Symantec’s enterprise antivirus software are now seeing loss in putting the software for sale.
It is said that Symantec Anti-virus Corporate Edition - also a component of the vendor’s Antivirus Enterprise Suite - has been bringing about a break in applications, inundating PC performance and making the machine so slow that it seems to be crawling.
One of the Symantec partners who asked not to be named said,
Our customers have been seeing a lot of Symantec antivirus-related problems, such as delaying applications unnecessarily, and it’s reached the point where we’re disabling it on many clients.
One more solution supplier who has been putting Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition for sale since 2000 said that starting with version 9.0, while Symantec extended the sport set to fight off spyware and malware, Anti-virus Corporate Edition became puffy and memory-intensive and brought about a break in several line-of-business applications.
