Malware designers seems to have made Microsoft’s PowerPoint their vector of choice for riddling corporate systems with bug. PowerPoint is a No1 amongst hacker, who are said to be rummaging around for the best app wherein they can implant their malware and get it into enterprise networks.

Well that is the word from MessageLabs, whose study reveals that slow patching by Microsoft of vulnerabilities in PowerPoint, quicker patching in Microsoft Word, and the ubiquitous lack of caution on the part of users have all integrated to make PowerPoint the prime hauler of attacks, which is now claimed to be accounting for 45% of the total.

Word, the ex-No 1 app with hackers, claims to bring about 35%, as said by vnunet.com. MessageLabs further claimed to have detected that these attacks are targeted mostly at public sector firms and the electronics and aviation industries, with their fat databases.
