The computer world is full of many a security products that boasts of protecting the PC users against Internet-borne threats, but after going through the write-up I am taken aback to find that they are of no use as far as protecting the PCs users against the web-based malicious threats, is concerned.
As claimed by the leading security vendor Webroot, the security industry is not thought to be up to the mark to educate companies on the malicious threat of spyware as they seem to be quite sluggish to combat spyware. All this was brought to light as a result of a survey conducted by Webroot amongst 3,000 UK home and SME PC users that reveals that half of the PC users are even now victimized by spyware, mainly keylogging, regardless of the truth that almost 87% of respondents touted to be aware of the risks of spyware.
Also, 99% of respondents said that they felt a little accountability to give protection to themselves against the external IT threats, however about half would like to make out software providers and ISPs to take some accountability.
Peter Watkins, chief executive of Webroot, maintained,
This highlights the need for the IT security industry to provide the most up-to-date information on spyware.’We have a duty to ensure that the protection we provide.
