Sophos, IT security purveyor, has made an announcement of a new version of Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista, the latest version 6.5 is claimed to back up the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system, integrating the Patchguard kernel locker.
Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista, version 6.5 is included with a complete service security system comprising security against viruses, spyware, adware and possibly malicious aplications.

Sophos has established very close ties with Microsoft to ensure we protect our business customers against threats that may emerge targeting the new Vista platform. Sophos Anti-Virus running on Vista provides unprecedented protection and fully supports Microsoft’s new functionality including PatchGuard.
Apart from this, the service is also expected to be integrated with its own central management console, automatic scanning and automatic updates. The customers of Sophos using the current product for Windows 2000/XP/2003, version 6.0 are to be given updates to back up Vista automatically.
