Symantec has rolled out its all-in-one Norton 360 consumer security suite, touted to be integrated with anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall, intrusion detection, anti-phishing, support and system beef-up technology into a standalone application. It’s a security, file backup and PC tune-up service that is sold for $80 as an annual subscription.
As claimed by the security vendor, the suite is capable of restoring user confidence in online transactions. The suite has been brought about to give a high level of automation, performing security scans in the background but for having impact on overall system performance. Similar to two competing products debuted very last year, Microsoft’s Windows Live OneCare and McAfee’s Total Protection, Norton 360 has been designed for ease of use and to provide protection against many kinds of threats, from viruses to spyware and phishing.
Marked as a next generation security application by analyst firm Current Analysis, the suite switches from giving signature-based malware scanning to a proactive security protection that slabs viruses-based on their behavior. Apart from that the latest software in addition is considered as a vital apparatus for Symantec to go on vying with Microsoft, which debuted the consumer security market very last year
