Websense of late warned the PC users of new malicious software that has been published on the Internet. The software is told to exploit an identified vulnerability in (IE) Internet Explorer. Websense says that the code was posted to Milw0rm.com website, that claimed the software exploits a newly-fixed vulnerability in Microsoft Corp.’s browser, which is expected to sprint illegitimate software on a PC that was not updated with recent-offered Microsoft patches.
The susceptibility was first revealed by security researcher HD Moore who posted code previous July that might be utilized to bump into the browser. The vulnerability had been patched up by Microsoft in February, however a few security researchers articulate that it will catch more attention from online hackers due to this newest exploit code.
Security vendor Websense Inc said,
This type of vulnerability has been very popular with malicious attacks in the past and we expect to see its usage increase substantially, now that exploit code is publicly available.
Experts at digital Security Inc stated that the Milw0rm code functions on IE6, rather than on the recent version of Microsoft’s browser.
